anscd is a national day for our national cancer!
Mates Against Melanoma has created anscd to raise public awareness and to increase skin check participation rates for the early detection of melanoma and related skin cancers.
We encourage the public to support anscd by booking a skin check with a trained skin check doctor, General Practitioner or dermatologist. We invite doctors to register their clinic to allow the community to find a doctor in their local area. We encourage doctors, businesses and the community to help us save our mates, you can do this by making a tax deductible donation.
Australia’s National Skin Check Day is proudly presented by Mates Against Melanoma-The Jason Sprott Foundation (MAM).
MAM is a Non-Profit DGR 1 Health Promotion Charity and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

“We usually get around 40-50 online bookings per week for skin checks, in the week following the anscd 2021 announcement we had 136 bookings. 32 of these bookings were for our ANU clinic, indicating that there is some traction with young people as well.”
“We were delighted to participate in Australia’s National Skin Check Day in 2021. We focused our communications on the whole week rather than the single day, and we ended up doing more than double our average number of skin appointments across our network of 50 practices.”
Flying Skin Cancer Doctor
It was our honour to be involved in Australia’s National Skin Check Day 2021, especially as we share the same mission – to detect melanoma early and save lives. We were one of the winners of the amazing HEINE DELTA 30 Dermatascopes, which we use to detect skin cancers & melanoma and we will be supporting anscd again on Thursday 24 February 2022.
